GEORGETOWN — Madison Central ran into a buzz-saw Friday night.

The Indians (1-3) racked up plenty of yards (331) but couldn’t turn those into points in a 63-20 loss to Scott County on the road.

Madison Central was the victim of well-oiled machine in Scott County, which put up 56 points in the first half and gained 504 yards on offense.

The Indians also had two turnovers that led to Cardinal scores.

Trailing 21-0 with 2:31 remaining in the first quarter, John Williams breathed a bit of life into the Indians with a 35-yard scoring strike from Zach Hardin. That score capped off a five-play, 84-yard drive.

But, Scott County went back on the attack to score three more times before Madison Central could get on the board again.

With 6:55 to go in the half, Johan Williams finished off a six-play, 80-yard drive when he broke through the line for a 49-yard scoring scamper.

But Scott County led 42-14 by then.

Caleb McClurg scored the Indians’ final points on a 6-yard pass from Hardin late in the fourth quarter.

Hardin finished 6-of-15 for 121 yards, while Johan Williams led all rushers with 86 yards on the ground. John Williams hauled in 99 yards receiving.

The Indians return to action next week, facing Lexington Catholic at home.Cardinals roll past Central
