The Berea Community Pirates (2-5) will look to build on their best performance of the season when they travel to Williamsburg (4-2) to take on the district rival Yellowjackets today.
The Pirates posted a big 34-26 win over Lynn Camp last week at home.
Berea had to battle from behind twice in the game then made a big defensive stop late in the game to seal the win.
Jason Strong had two touchdown runs in the district victory, while Deondre Tate had a 30-yard touchdown catch and ran in another touchdown.
The Berea special teams also had a big night against Lynn Camp, getting a touchdown on an 8-yard kickoff return by Robbie Watkins.
Williamsburg is coming off a 47-0 shutout of Campbellsville last week, its second straight victory.
On offense, the Yellowjackets like to throw the ball around, entering the game with 1,596 yards through the air on the season. They also have run for an additional 566 yards on the year.
Quarterback Dalton Sizemore has completed 98-of-164 passes for 1,582 yards and 13 touchdowns, while throwing six interceptions.
Eight different receivers have caught passes this season, but Sizemore’s favorite targets are wideouts Corey Shelton (30 receptions for 664 yards and seven touchdowns) and Skyler Griffith (31 catches for 552 yards and five touchdowns).
The bulk of the Yellowjackets running has been by Jefferson Patrick, 34 rushes for 264 yards and two touchdowns and Sizemore, who has run the ball 69 times for 235 yards an two touchdowns.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. in Williamsburg.
