The Lady Indians needed a late surge to pick up a road win on Thursday at Wolfe County.
Madison Central (17-8) scored five times in the fifth inning and four more runs in the sixth to earn a 10-6 win. The Lady Indians had 11 hits and took advantage of 10 Wolfe County errors.
Playing for the first time in 12 days, Central scored once in the top of the second inning, but trailed 2-1 after four innings.
Mackenzie Wilder went the distance in the circle, allowing five hits and six runs (two earned), while striking out nine and walking six.
Central re-took the lead in the fifth inning. Raegan Coyle reached on a bunt single and after stealing second, scored on an error. Sarah Arthur and Sydney Vaughn both singled and scored on a single by Sammie Walczyk, who later scored on an error.
In the sixth, Vaughn doubled and scored on a single by Emily Frakes. Morgan Elliston added an RBI double and then Walczyk delivered a run-scoring single.
In the second inning, Kasi Schneid walked and scored on a sacrifice by Coyle.
Four Lady Indians had two hits each. Coyle was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Vaughn was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Arthur was also 2-for-5 with a run scored. Walczyk was 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored.
Elliston was 1-for-4 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. MacKenzie Murphy was 1-for-4.
Central is set to return to action today against Pulaski County at Somerset High School.
Garrard County 2, Lady Eagles 1
The Madison Southern softball had its three-game winning streak snapped Thursday with a 2-1 loss at Garrard County.
With the loss, the Lady Eagles fall to 17-6 on the season.
Southern is set to return to action today at Montgomery County.

The Model Laboratory baseball team had its three-game winning streak snapped on Thursday with an 11-0 loss to Estill County in Richmond.
With the loss, the Patriots fall to 6-12 on the season.
Model is set to return to action today at Rockcastle County.
Bourbon County 8, Southern 1
The Madison Southern baseball team suffered an 8-1 loss Thursday to Bourbon County in Paris.
With the loss, the Eagles fall to 4-21 on the season.
Southern is set to return to action Saturday at Garrard County.
