H.S. TENNIS: Model rolls past Scott County

RICHMOND — The Model Laboratory boys tennis team rolled to an easy victory over Scott County on Monday at Arlington Country Club in Richmond.

The Patriots lost just four games in three singles matches and also won both doubles matches during the 5-0 victory.

At No. 1 singles, Cole Wilson defeated Dylan Renfrow, 6-0, 6-2. At No. 2 singles, James Logue beat Drew Crum, 6-0, 6-1, and at No. 3 singles, Levi Agee defeated Matthew Wallace, 6-1, 6-0.

Model did drop a set at No. 2 doubles, but Russell Linnemeier and Nate Frisbie rallied for a three-set win, 6-7 (5), 7-5, 1-0 (7).

At No. 1 doubles, Blake Benson and Nolan Kelly handled Nick Wrobleski and Tray Young, 6-1, 6-0.

Model is set to return to action today at 11th Region rival Lexington Christian Academy.
