YOUTH LEAGUES: Signups for leagues underway

RICHMOND — The Richmond Little League will begin sign-ups for this year’s fall season on Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Sign-ups are also scheduled for Monday, June 3 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to noon.

The registration fee is $55 for all leagues, except Wee Ball, which is $40. The starting date will be August 17.

Those players who do not sign up on these dates can be placed on a waiting list by e-mailing a message, that includes child's name, birthdate, and parent's contact information, to

Madison County Youth Football League sign-ups

Two sign-up dates remain for players interested in playing in the Madison County Youth Football League.

Interested players can sign up Saturday, June 1. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, June 2, from 1-4 p.m. at Gibson Bay across from the Richmond Little League Complex.

Players who played last year and want to return to the same team must also register. Returning players who do not register will not be placed on their original teams.

Cost to play in the Tackle Leagues are $95 for Junior ages 7 and 8, and Senior ages 9-11.

Cost for the Flag league is $75 for ages 5-6.

All ages are based on cutoff of July 31, 2013.

Any 7-year-old weighing less than 50 pounds may play down.

Any 9-year-old weighing less than 70 pounds may play down.

All applications are available on the league’s website at and also will be available at sign-ups.

Individuals must bring the completed form as well as a birth certificate, current physical and payment to sign-ups.

Payment, cash or check, is expected at the time of sign-ups or players will not be placed on a team. Multiple sibling discounts will be given if signed up on the same day.

Anyone interested in being considered as a coach or assistant coach should complete a coaching application on day of sign-ups.
