TRACK: Middle school athletes set for state meet

RICHMOND — Last weekend, track athletes from Madison County's four high school's had their chance to compete against the state's best in the KHSAA State Track Championships at the University of Louisville.

Today it's the athletes from the county's middle schools who get to prove they are among the best the state has to offer when they compete in the KTCCCA Middle School State Championships at the University of Louisville beginning at 10 a.m.

Seventy-four athletes from Model Laboratory, Berea Community, Foley, Farristown, Clark Moores and Madison middle schools qualified for the state meet in 35 different events.

Athletes and the schools they represent are:

Model: Sophie Austin, Uma Ikat, Chloe Dyer, Avaqnti Patel, Grace Pradham, Melanie Welsing, Patrick Nnoromele

Berea: Justus Williams

Foley: Rachel Carmack, Robin Carmack, Maria Melhuish, Magan Warren, Jorja Lawrence, London Owen, Ethan Yandow, Ijahnai Johnson, Peyton Martin, Victoria Swope, Ashley Vanwinkle, Barbara Evans, Nora McClure, Hannah Hisle.
