LL BASEBALL: Richmond’s All-Stars come up short

RICHMOND — After opening play in the District 3 Tournament with impressive results on Saturday at Cardinal Run Park in Lexington, the Richmond All-Stars haven’t been able to come up with a win.

On Sunday, the Richmond 11-year-old All-Stars (1-1) lost 10-0 to the Eastern All-Stars and the Richmond 11-12 American All-Stars (1-1) fell to Mercer County, 9-0.

Both teams had won their tournament openers on Saturday by lopsided scores.

The Richmond 11-12 National All-Stars took on the field against Harrison County on Sunday. But, that game was delayed by rain and had to be finished on Monday.

Richmond had a 2-1 lead when play resumed, but Harrison County rallied for a 12-8 win.

The Richmond National All-Stars are now 0-2 in the tournament.

The 9-10 Richmond National All-Stars (1-0) will take on Eastern National.

The Richmond 11 All-Stars will take on Mercer County.
