Former Cincinnati Reds infielder Ron Oester will be signing autographs at a baseball card show today at the Galaxy Bowling Center in Richmond.
The event, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., is being hosted by Donald Foster, owner of The Best Little Card Shop.
The show will also feature former Major Leaguer and current San Diego bullpen coach Willie Blair and Ron Oester’s son, Jake, who is a prospect in the Chicago White Sox organization.
Admission to the show is free.
Ron Oester made his major league debut in 1978 with the Reds and played 12 seasons in Cincinnati. In 1990, he hit .333 in the NLCS as the Reds went on to win the World Series.
Ron Oester cards will be available for $4 and 8x10 pictures will be available for $8. Inscriptions on purchased items will be $1, while autographs on personal items will be $6.
Ron and Jake will be at the show from 10 a.m. to noon.
Blair played in the majors from 1990 until 2001. The Paintsville native pitched for eight MLB clubs — Toronto (1990), Cleveland (1991), Houston (1992), Colorado (1993-4), San Diego (1995-6), Detroit (1997; 1999-2001), Arizona (1998) and the New York Mets (1998). On Dec. 11, he was named San Diego’s bullpen coach, replacing Jimmy Jones.
Blair cards will be available for $3, 4x6 pictures will be available for $1 and 8x10 pictures will be available for $6. Inscriptions on purchased items will be $1, while autographs on personal items will be $5.
Blair will be at the show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Jake Oester currently plays for the Class AA White Sox affiliate in Birmingham Ala. He is getting ready to enter his fourth year of minor league ball.
Jake Oester cards will be available for $1 and 8x10 pictures will be available for $3. Autographs on personal items will be $3.
