H.S. BASKETBALL: Berea falls in overtime: Lady Patriots pick up first win

RICHMOND — The Berea Community Lady Pirates (0-3) lost a tough one on the road Monday in Irvine, falling to Estill County 66-63 in overtime.

Senior Chase Fain led the way for the Lady Pirates with a team-high 22 points, while Alex Horn had a big night with a double-double, scoring 19 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Jordan Sandefur and Conner Coyle finished with eight points each and Miranda Montgomery had four points.

Kiely Flynn led all scorers with 37 points for the Lady Engineers, while Bethany Hall added 16. Sarah Barnes had four points, Jordyn Rose and Kaley Treadway had three points each. Sarah Edmonson had two point and Taylor Young added one point.

The Lady Pirates are back in action on Wednesday when they play host to North Laurel at 7:30 p.m.



Model Laboratory 44, KSD 18

The Lady Patriots picked up their first win of the season, downing the Kentucky School for the Deaf ,44-18, Monday in Danville.

Model is back in action on Friday when they travel to Berea to take on Madison Southern.
