Caleb Johnson limited Madison Central to just four hits and earned a complete-game victory as No. 6 Tates Creek won 4-1 Tuesday at Don Richardson Field.
Johnson walked four and had seven strikeouts.
The Commodores (18-6) scored once in the fifth and took control with a three-run sixth inning.
Central (16-9) scored its only run in the bottom of the sixth.
Trey Sexton started for the Indians and pitched four-plus inning, allowing one run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts.
Zach Voll pitched one scoreless inning of relief and had a strikeout. Alex Georgel gave up three runs, two hits and a walk without recording an out in the sixth.
Jonah Kelsey came on to get the final six outs, allowing two walks and one hit, while striking out two.
Central had one hit in each of the first four innings. Ben Morin singled in the first, Joseph Holbrook doubled in the second, Jimmy Wright singled in the third and Ben Fisher singled in the fourth.
Jake Caldwell, Jimmy Wright, Josh Wright and Jeremy Lakes all drew walks.
Central didn’t have a hit in the sixth, but pushed across a run. Jimmy Wright walked and Fisher reached on error, which allowed Kirkland Humphrey to score.
The Indians are set to return to action today at Dunbar.
