H.S. BASEBALL: Indians fall; Lady Indians, Lady Eagles win

Southern 3, Garrard County 0

The Lady Eagles got a little payback Friday in the opening game of the Jaguar Classic at East Jessamine High School.

Emily Osborne pitched a complete game shutout as Madison Southern (12-6) defeated Garrard County, 3-0.

Two weeks ago, Garrard County defeated the Lady Eagles 8-3 in Berea.

“Emily pitched one heck of a game,” Southern coach Brian Foley said. “I’m very proud of her.”

Osborne allowed just four hits.

Her teammates got her all the run support she would need in the fourth inning. Paige King doubled, then Amber Sparks followed with an RBI double. Kayla Mullins was hit by a pitch before Alex Nash delivered a two-run single.

Bethany Mays had two hits, while Taylor Johnson and Kelley Freeman each added a hit.

Southern will be back in action at the Jaguar Classic at 1 p.m. today against West Jessamine.
