The B. Michael Caudill girl’s soccer team improved their record to 10-0 on the season after beating Estill County 4-0 earlier this week.
The Lady Spartans have scored on 46 out of 170 shots on goals for a scoring percentage of 27 percent. Twelve players have contributed to the offensive total — Alex Walters, Alix Castillo, Destany McClellan, Jai Christian, Jenna Jones, Kelsey Powell, Kiara Long, Lexie Rose, Megan Harrison, Rachel Hughes, Taylor Gregg and Taylor Hodges.
On the defending side, the Spartans have only allowed eight goals. Keepers Gabby Duerson, Dixie Mattox, Mackenzie Horn and Kiara Long have stopped an amazing 59 out of 67 shots on goal for a denial percentage of 88 percent.
Caudill’s third pillar of strength comes from its fullbacks and midfielders. Emma Perkins, Sara Olmsted, Sharon Vincent, Kaitlyn Colliver and Bethany Greenwell have helped prevent opponents from getting shots on goal.
The Lady Spartans have a combined team total of 225 stops in and around their defending third. Denying opponents a chance to even take a shot to their goal has been a significant factor in the team remaining unbeaten this season.
Caudill has four regular season games before the district tournament.
