The Madison Central girls soccer team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 1-0 win over Boone County Saturday in Richmond.
The Lady Indians (7-1-1) got a goal from Haleigh Cable with about 15 minutes left to provide the game’s only score. Cable scored on a rebound after a Madison Goodman shot.
“We had a much better performance in the second half,” Central coach Chris Dunham said. “Hopefully, that will help us get back on track.”
Central suffered its first loss of the season Thursday at West Jessamine.
The Lady Indians are set to return to action Monday at home against Franklin County.
Lady Patriots 5, Middlesboro 0
Ruby Smith and Skylar Barger both scored a pair of goals as the Lady Patriots (3-5-1) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 5-0 win Saturday at home over Middlesboro.
Smith scored both her goals in the first half, helping Model take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Barger scored five minutes into the second half on an assist from Kylee Miller. Julia Durso scored a couple of minutes later and Barger scored again in the 60th minute on an assist from Ashley Bellardine.
Hayley Hunt, Katelyn Cox and Linda Yoder all split time in goal.
Model is set to return to action Monday at Madison Southern.
Bethlehem 6, Lady Indians 5
The Madison Southern girls soccer team wrapped up play in the Little Caesar’s Classic in Boyle County on Saturday with a 6-5 loss to Bethlehem.
The Lady Eagles (2-7-2) are set to return to action Monday at home against Model.
