H.S. SOCCER: Lady Indians top Boone County

RICHMOND — The Madison Central girls soccer team bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 1-0 win over Boone County Saturday in Richmond.

The Lady Indians (7-1-1) got a goal from Haleigh Cable with about 15 minutes left to provide the game’s only score. Cable scored on a rebound after a Madison Goodman shot.

“We had a much better performance in the second half,” Central coach Chris Dunham said. “Hopefully, that will help us get back on track.”

Central suffered its first loss of the season Thursday at West Jessamine.

The Lady Indians are set to return to action Monday at home against Franklin County.

Lady Patriots 5, Middlesboro 0

Barger scored five minutes into the second half on an assist from Kylee Miller. Julia Durso scored a couple of minutes later and Barger scored again in the 60th minute on an assist from Ashley Bellardine.

Hayley Hunt, Katelyn Cox and Linda Yoder all split time in goal.

Model is set to return to action Monday at Madison Southern.
