SWIMMING: Local swimmers shine for Sailfish in Oak Ridge

RICHMOND — Several local swimmers competed for the Swimchester Sailfish this past weekend at the ACAC Fall Invitational Swim Meet in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

The Swimchester swimmers finished first in 38 out of the 100 events in which they entered.

The Sailfish had six high-point winners, including — Isabella Cooksey (9-10 female), Trent Lakes (13-14 male), Tilly Baldwin (13-14 female), Chase Baldwin (15 over male), and Morgan Lakes (15 over female). Trent Lakes won all 12 events in which he swam. The top seven swimmers in each event scored at this meet.

John Babuka, a sophomore at Madison Central, was second in 200 breaststroke and fourth in 500 yard freestyle

Chase Baldwin, a junior at Madison Central, was the runner up high point award winner and was took first in 400 IM, 200 free, 200 backstroke, 200 IM and 100 back. He was also second in 100 free.

Tilly Baldwin, an eighth-grader at Madison Middle, took first place in the 500 Free, 200 Free, 200 IM and 1,000 Free. She was also second in 200 back, 100 breast and 200 breaststroke.

Makenzie Burford, a sophomore at Madison Central, took first in the 200 yard Butterfly and third in 100 butterfly and 400 IM.

Mitchell Collins, a junior at Madison Central, was third in 200 breastroke and fourth in the 100 breast and 100 back.

Isabella Cooksey, a fifth-grader at Daniel Boone, was the high point runner-up and took first place in the 50 breast, 100 back, 100 IM and 50 back. She was also second in the 200 IM, 500 free, 100 fly, 50 free, 100 free, 50 fly, 100 breast and 200 freestyle.

Morgan Lakes, a sophomore at Madison Central, was a high point winner and also took first place in 500, 200, and 1,000 free, along with 100 breast, 200 IM, and 200 breast

Trent Lakes, an eighth-grader at Clark Moores, took first place in the 400 IM, 200 IM, 50, 100, 200 and 500 free, 100 and 200 breast, 100 and 200 fly, and the 100 and 200 backstroke.

Madeline Lee, an eighth-grader at Madison Middle, was seventh in 200 freestyle.

Eliza Miller, a freshman at Model, was third in the 1,000 free, 100 and 200 butterfly, fifth in the 200 free and back, sixth in the 200 breast and seventh in the 100 breast.

Jack Miller, a senior at Model, was seventh in the 200 back, 100 fly and the 200 fly

Hadley Neal, a junior at Madison Central, was second in the 200 breast and 400 IM and was third in the 100 breast.

Mason Neal, a seventh-grader at Madison Middle, was third in 100 fly, fourth in 200 IM and 500 free, sixth in 100 breast and seventh in 100 back, 100 IM and 200 free.

Jane Zhang, a fifth-grader at Model, dropped 47.8 seconds in the 200 freestyle and finished second in medley relay

Zane Zhang, a sixth-grader at Model, was 11th in the 100 breast and second in medley relay.
