H.S. SWIMMING: Patriots take third at Eastern Kentucky Relays

RICHMOND — The Model Laboratory swim team took first place in five events and finished third overall at the Eastern Kentucky Relays Saturday in Richmond.

The Patriots finished with 338 total points. Male won the event with 428 points, while Johnson Central (374) took second place.

In the boys competition, Model finished fourth with 190 points. In the girls competition, Model finished fifth.

The Lady Patriots had three first-place finishes.

The team of Maddy Nasrallah, Lexi Nasrallah, Christina Schwartz and Miriam Cahill took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

The team of Lauren Shepherd, Jaqueline Brochu, Kate Walters and Lexi Nasrallah took first place in the 400-yard medley relay.

The team of Shepherd, Schwartz, Lillie Deprez and Maddy Nasrallah took first place in the 800-yard freestyle relay.

The Model boys team had two first-place finishes.

The team of Sam Shepherd, Jonas Welsing, James Schwartz and Jack Miller took first place in the 400-yard medley relay.

The team of James Schwartz, Miller, Sam Shepherd and Welsing took first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

Model also got second-place finishes in the girls 200-yard medley relay, the boys 200-yard backstroke relay, the boys 800-yard freestyle relay, the boys 200-yard breaststroke relay and the girls 400-yard freestyle relay.

Model also got third-place finishes in the boys 200-yard medley relay and the boys 200-yard freestyle relay.

The Patriots are set to return to action Wednesday at EKU against Lafayette and LCA.
