H.S. BASEBALL/SOFTBALL: East Jessamine rolls past Madison Central, 9-1

RICHMOND — The Lady Indians couldn’t get their offense going Monday on the road at East Jessamine.

Madison Central didn’t have a hit and suffered a 9-1 loss in Nicholasville.

The Lady Indians got a run in the first on an error, but the Lady Jaguars (9-3) answered back quickly and took charge.

The loss was the second-straight for Central (5-5).

In the first inning, Kirsten Spillman reached on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Katie Brock.

The Central defense did not commit an error, but MacKenzie Wilder couldn’t slow down East’s offense.

In the past three games, the Lady Jaguars have scored 32 runs.

Central is set to return to action today at Dunbar. Game time is set for 6 p.m. in Lexington.

Frankfort 10, Berea 0

The Berea Community baseball team suffered a 10-0, five-inning loss Monday at Frankfort.

With the loss, the Pirates slip to 10-5 on the season.

Berea had won eight of its past 10 games.

Berea is set to return to action today at Burgin. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
