H.S. SOCCER: Central falls to Catholic

RICHMOND — The Madison Central boys soccer team (8-7-1) fell 2-0 to Lexington Catholic (9-8-2) Thursday in Lexington.

The game was scoreless until deep in the second half when the Knights scored twice with less than 10 minutes left in the game. 

Central goal keeper Ben Durham had 10 saves, while the blocks and steals piled up for the Indians.

Addison McCoy lead the way with 13 steals, followed by Luke Hall with seven, Tate Renzinbrink with six, Chase Carroll and Peyton Netherton with four each, Grant Willoughby and Luc Powell with two each. 

Cad Barnes, Sammy Perkins, Caleb Crutcher, Dylan Dotson and Hunter Jackson each had a block or steal.

Offensively, the Indians managed two shots on goal by McCoy, two shots by Crutcher and one each by Dotson, Baker, Hall and Renzinbrink. 

The Indians junior varsity fell 1-0 to the Knights earlier in the evening.

Central continues its regular season ending road trip at Henry Clay on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
