H.S. SOCCER: Lady Indians top Western Hills, Indians fall to Collegiate

RICHMOND — Lady Indians 4, Western Hills 1

The Madison Central girls soccer team rolled to its fourth-straight win on Saturday, topping Western Hills 4-1 in Frankfort.

The Lady Indians (10-1-1) got first-half goals from Bailey Harden and Taylor Sterling and never trailed. Mayce Dennis earned the win in goal.

Hardin’s goal came on a shot from about 30 yards out that got over the keeper and slipped under the bar. Sterling’s goal came on a cross.

In the second half, Haleigh Cable scored off a cross and Maryssa Stewart got loose on a breakaway and scored.

The goal was Stewart’s seventh of the season, which is second-most on the team.

Central returns to action Monday at home against Lafayette.

Louisville Collegiate 6, Madison Central 0

The Madison Central boys soccer team suffered a 6-0 loss to Louisville Collegiate Saturday in Louisville.

Central (6-6-1) managed just four shots; one each from Luke Hall and Dylan Dotson and two from Hunter Jackson.

Addison McCoy led the way on defense with nine blocks and two steals, while Tate Renzinbrink had five blocks.

Grant Willoughby stole the ball three times before leaving the game with an injury.

Peyton Netherton, Sammy Perkins, Chase Carroll, Cameron Wilson, Logan Baker, Hall and Jackson had at least one block or steal in the game.

Goalies Ben Durham and Levi Knutson had three saves each.

The Indians returns to action next Thursday when they host Franklin County at 7:30 p.m.
