GOLF: Five local golfers in MDGT event in Danville

RICHMOND — Five local golfers turned in nice performance over the weekend in the Musselman-Dunne Golf Tour event at the Danville Country Club in Boyle County.

Makenzie Neal turned in the best score of any of the local golfers, carting rounds of 45 and 46 for a two-round total of 91, which was good enough for sixth place in the girls 14-15 -ear-old division.

Tyler Crafton finished tied for 13th in the boys 13-14-year-old division. Crafton had rounds of 46 and 47 to finish +21 for the tournament.

Three Richmond golfers, Trent Renfro, Grant Willoughby and Burgess Clark, competed in the Championship Boys Division.

Renfro shot rounds of 40 and 41  to finish with a 9 over par 81, good enough for an 11th place finish.

Willoughby shot an 86, (43.43) to finish 14th at 14 over par.

Clark shot rounds of 44 and 45 for a +17, 89 to finish in 16th place.

Ben Davis of Sayre High School won the Championship  Division with a +2, 74, in a two hole playoff over Corey Lochridge.

Jackson Frame of Maysville finished third with a +3, 75, while Landon Adkins of Nicholasville and Ian Black of Elizabethtown tied for fourth at 76.
