AUTO RACING: Richmond Raceway set for Butterball warm-up

Special to the Register

RICHMOND — The Richmond Raceway staff is preparing for an action-packed night of racing with the Butterball warm-up today at the Madison County track.

All of divisions will be in action, as well as a special provisional up for grabs to the Late Model drivers.

Gates in the grandstand area open at 6 p.m., and admission prices for this weekend are $12 for adults, children six through 12 are $3 and kids five and under are free.

Be sure to hang on to your admission ticket upon entering the grandstand because when you return June 29 for the Sunoco Sizzler you will receive grandstand admission for a low $8 when redeeming your ticket from this weekend.

That’s two full action-packed nights of racing for a $20 bill.

On the pit side the gates open at 4:30 p.m. Admission prices are still free for children five and under, $5 for kids six through 12, and $30 for ages 13 and up.

Pill draw ends at 6 p.m. with the driver’s meeting set for 6:30 p.m. and hot laps shortly after.

Raceceivers are mandatory for every driver in all divisions at Richmond Raceway. These will be checked randomly throughout the evening.

Upcoming events include the first-ever Sunoco Sizzler on June 29 and the 26th Paul Butterball Wooldridge Memorial on July 13.

Many more special events are planned for the season. The track is located at 328 Greens Crossing Road, Richmond, KY 40475.
