The Madison Southern Eagles saw their two-game win streak come to an end Friday, with a 89-74 loss to West Jessamine in Nicholasville.
Stacy Burns and Trevor Huff scored 16 points each and Caleb Miller added 12 for the Eagles.
Tanner Kidwell had nine points, Devante Linville had eight points, Michael Jefferson added seven points, Andrew Miller had four points and Antonio Thrash added two points.
The Eagles played well early, taking a 15-12 lead on a Burns three-pointer with a minute to go in the first quarter, before West took a 17-15 lead at the end of the quarter.
The Colts out-scored the Eagles 23-16 in the second quarter to extend their lead to 40-31 at the half.
The Eagles got to within eight points on three occasions early in the third quarter before West Jessamine began to pull away. The Colts outscored Southern 33-26 to take a 73-57 lead at the end of the quarter.
The Eagles got to within 15, 76-61 on a layup by Huff early in the fourth quarter but could get no closer as the Colts won going away.
The Eagles shot 49.2 percent from the field and 40 percent from behind the three-point line. They were 10-of-16 from the free throw line for 62.5 percent.
Southern returns to action Tuesday at Tates Creek.
