LITTLE LEAGUE: Richmond All-Stars win opener at state tournament

RICHMOND — The Richmond All-Stars opened play in the Kentucky State Senior League Tournament with a solid win Saturday in Oldham County.

The All-Stars defeated Beaver Creek Little League, 7-4.

Ashton Scott started for Richmond and Will Daniel and Nash Courtwright also pitched.

Drew Harmon had two hits and scored twice, Daniel Wilkerson was 3-for-3 and scored twice, Easton Shouse had a hit and scored once, Michael Kendrick had a hit and two RBIs, Courtwright had a hit and scored and Daniel walked and scored a run.

Richmond is set to return to today against North Laurel at 4 p.m.

The Richmond 13-14 year-old All-Stars will open play at the state tournament at 11 a.m. today in Oldham County against Hazard.
