KIAC BASKETBALL: Lady Mountaineers two game win streak snapped by Brreschia

MADISON COUNTY — The Berea College Lady Mountaineers had their two-game winning streak snapped Thursday by Brescia University, 61-54.

The loss comes one night after the Lady Mountaineers engineered a second-half comeback to defeeat Indiana University South East.

Shelby Romine led the way for the Lady Mountaineers with 13 points. She also pulled down 12  rebounds, had three assists and one steal.

Mikola Burks also scored in double figures with 10 points.

Erika Parks had eight points, four rebounds, five assists and one steal, Meagan Walker had seven points, four rebounds and three steals, while Anna Loveless had seven points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Melena Steve finished with six points, two rebounds and one steal, Makenzie Stoner added four points and Johnesha Warren and DeAnn Ryan had three points each.

Berea shot 36.1 percent from the field in the game and 37.5 percent from behind the three-point line.

The Lady Mountaineers were outrebounded by Breschia 46-44, while both teams committed 15 turnovers.

Breschia shot 25 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from behind the arc.
