H.S. WRESTLING: Wrestlers earn victories at regional

RICHMOND — Madison Central wrestlers picked up victories Friday on the opening day of the KHSAA Region 7 Wrestling Tournament in Versailles.

Tucker Fair defeated Nate Hill of Woodford County in his first match. The victory was the 100th of the senior’s high school career.

Paul Couch and Logan Thomas earned victories by pin on Friday. Storm Savage won his opening match, defeating a wrestler from Bourbon County. He then lost to Eric Preia of Franklin County in his next match.

Jack Lindsey, Chris Morrow, Dylan Mayes and Ryan McMannis all lost their first matches.

Fair (220 pounds) and Couch (heavyweight) are the No. 1 seeds in their weight classes.

The tournament will conclude today at Woodford County High School.
