On Saturday, the Clark-Moores Middle School softball team is playing hosting to a cancer awareness event — Swing for a Cure — at Madison Central.
Each player will be recognizing someone that is a cancer survivor, is currently battling the disease or lost their life to cancer. The team has raised money and is donating $500 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
During a ceremony at noon, there will be a balloon release and a Science Hill Middle School player who lost her life to leukemia will be honored.
The event will feature four games. Science Hill will take on Northern Middle School at 10:30 a.m. Clark-Moores will face Science Hill at 1 p.m. and Clark-Moores will take on Northern Middle at 2:30 p.m.
