H.S. BASEBALL: Indians roll past Estill County, 15-5

RICHMOND — The Indians pounded out 13 hits, including Isaac Swafford’s first varsity home run, and rolled to a 15-5 six-inning victory Thursday over Estill County in Richmond.

Madison Central (21-7) scored in every inning but the third and had three pitchers combine to scatter eight hits.

Josh Wright led the offensive attack, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Swafford scored twice, walked and drove in a run and Ben Morin was 2-for-2 with a double, two walks and scored four times.

Zach Voll started and went two innings, allowing one earned run, two hits and three walks, while striking out three. Bryar Rose went 2 1/3 innings, giving up six hits and four runs (two earned) with one strikeout. Kameron Presnell pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and allowed just one walk.

Hunter Kabalen had an RBI single in the first and a two-run single in the second inning.

Kirk Humphrey was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Seth Richardson was 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored. Jeremy Lakes was 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Austin Alexander was 1-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Jacob Frasier had an RBI and Nick Kavanaugh scored a run.

Central is set to return to action today at home against Bryan Station at 8 p.m.

Model 11, Wolfe County 7

Garrison Gray led the way as the Patriots rolled to an 11-7 win Thursday on the road over Wolfe County.

Gray, a freshman, was 5-for-5 with two singles, two doubles and a home run. Tanner Thornberry was 3-for-5 and Bailey Ratliffe and Joseph Hampton were both 2-for-3.

Hampton started for Model, while Seth Marks and Gray pitched in relief.

The Patriots (4-11) are set to return to action Monday at Lynn Camp.
