H.S. HOOPS: Brooks shines in All-Star event

RICHMOND — Madison Central standout Larryn Brooks had a good night during the Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Game preliminary festivities, the “Slam Jam All-Star Night of Stars” Friday at Thomas More College.

Brooks won the Three-Point Shootout for the Kentucky All-Stars. Brooks then teamed with Kentucky Miss Basketball Makayla Epps (Marion County) and Leah Schaeffer (Fort Thomas Highlands) to win the 3-on-3 championship over the Ohio team of Alexis Henning, Megan Galloway and Trischa Lacy.

The night also included a dunk contest.

The Ohio-Kentucky All-Star games are today at Thomas More College in Crestview, Ky. with the girls’ game beginning at 5:30 p.m. and the boys game tipping off at 7:30 p.m.

Central’s Ashton Feldhaus will join Brooks on the girls team, while Central teammates Ken-Jah Bosley and Kentucky Mr. Basketball Dominique Hawkins will play on the boys squad.
