KIAC HOOPS: Berea College tops Wilberforce

BEREA — For the second straight day, the Mountaineers held on for a hard-fought win over Wilberforce University at the Seabury Center.

Daishon Robinson had a team-best 20 points and London Moore and Seth Beckham each added 16 points as Berea College improved to 6-2 on the season with a 90-79 win.

The Mountaineers led by as much as 16 points before the Bulldogs (0-10) made a late run.

Richard Parker had 13 points off the bench, Anthony Myrks had eight points, Tevin Webster had seven points and 10 rebounds and Aaron Ponder had six points.

Berea shot 53 percent in the first half and took a 46-43 lead into halftime. The Mountaineers shot 54 percent from the field in the second half, while making 17-of-23 free throw attempts.

The game featured four ties and six lead changes.

Berea defeated Wilberforce 101-95 Thursday at the Seabury Center. Both games were part of the Rainmaker Classic.

The Mountaineers are set to return to action Nov. 30 at Indiana University Kokomo.
