H.S. SWIMMING: Model takes fifth at Eastern Kentucky Relays

MURRAY — Model Laboratory played host to the 35th annual Eastern Kentucky Relays Saturday at EKU.

The event featured more than 300 swimmers from 11 schools.

Model Laboratory finished second in the boys competition, was seven in the girls competition and finished fifth in the combined team scoring.

The Patriots won two events — the boys 200-yard backstroke relay (Shepherd, Sidor, Stroschein and Miller) and the boys 200-yard butterfly relay (Schwartz, Miller, Shepherd and Jackson).

Model also had five second-place finishes — the girls 200-yard backstroke relay, the boys 400-yard medley relay, the boys 800-yard freestyle relay, the girls 200-yard breaststroke relay and the boys 400-yard freestyle relay.

Model added one third-place finish — the girls 200-yard butterfly relay.

The Patriots are set to return to action Dec. 5 in the Madison County Championships at EKU. The event will feature Madison Central, Madison Southern and Berea Community.
