The Madison Central boys golf team finished sixth Friday in the season-opening 5-Star General Lafayette Invitational at the Gay Brewer Jr. Course @ Picadome in Lexington.
Central finished with a total team score of +33, 321, and was seven shots behind Anderson County, which was fifth.
West Jessamine won the team title with a score of 294, +6.
Carter Skipworth posted the best score for the Indians. He shot a +3, 75, and tied for 12th place. Central’s Zach Miller and Burgess Clark shot a +9, 81, and finished tied for 37th.
Model’s Nick Kubala shot a +11, 83, and tied for 47th.
Central’s Jordan Adams shot a +12, 84, and finished tied for 50th. Central’s Trent Renfro shot a +13, 85, and tied for 54th.
Model Laboratory finished 19th with a team score of +94, 382.
Model’s Jake Fritz shot a +16, 88, and finished tied for 65th. Mason Hamrick shot a +25, 97, and finished tied for 87th.
Model’s Parker Hastings shot a +31, 103, Will Feese shot a +36, 108, and tied for 98th and Caswell Patton shot a +46, 118, and finished 100th.
Hamrick rolls to title
Richmond’s Mason Hamrick blew away the competition in the 10-and-under division of the KPGA Junior 9 & 6 Hole Tournament earlier this week at the Henry County Country Club.
Hamrick shot a +13, 83, and won his division by seven strokes over Luke Coyle of Campbellsville.
After the first day of the two-day event, Hamrick had a five shot lead over Coyle after shooting a +6. 41.
