OVC HOOPS: EKU’s Cosey, DiNunno honored

RICHMOND — Eastern Kentucky University senior Mike DiNunno and junior Glenn Cosey earned all-district honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the organization announced on Tuesday.

DiNunno was chosen First-Team NABC Division I All-District 19. Cosey was a Second-Team honoree. District 19 includes teams from the Ohio Valley Conference.

The NABC Division I All-District teams are voted on by member coaches of the NABC. The 242 student-athletes, from 24 districts, are eligible for the NABC Coaches’ Division I All-America teams.

DiNunno led the team in three-pointers, assists and steals. He finished second in scoring at 14.8 points per game. He was among the OVC leaders in steals (third), assists-to-turnover ratio (third), free-throw percentage (fourth), assists (fifth), 3-pointers made (fifth), three-point field goal percentage (eighth) and scoring (10th).

The Chicago native was chosen as OVC Player of the Week on Dec. 23 and was selected first team All-OVC.

Cosey led the team in scoring (15.2 ppg) and was second in assists and 3-pointers made. He ranked among the conference leaders in assists-to-turnover ratio (third), 3-pointers made (third), three-point field goal percentage (seventh), scoring (ninth), steals (10th) and assists (11th).
