GOLF:: Local youth golfers compete in Musselman-Dunne Tour Event

RICHMOND — Six local youth golfers competed in the Musselman-Dunne Golf Tour (MDGT) event Tuesday at the Bull Golf Club @ Boones Trace.

A pair of standouts took second place in their age groups.

Burgess E. Clark shot a +1, 73, in the championship boys division. He finished two shots behind the winner, Travis Rose, who has signed to play golf at Eastern Kentucky University.

Clark had a 35 on his first nine, then shot a 38 on the back nine.

Rose finished with a -1, 71.

In the girls 14-15 year-old division, Richmond’s MacKenzie Neal shot a +10, 82, and finished three strokes behind Gypsie Hutchinson.

In the boys 13-14 year-old division, Zachary Miller shot a +5, 77, and finished sixth, while Tyler Crafton shot a +18, 90, and finished 12th.

Also in the championship boys division, Grant Willoughby shot a +14, 86, and finished 10th, while Trent Renfro shot a +23, 95, and finished 11th.

The next MDGT event is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at Long Run Golf Course in Louisville.

Richmond’s Gibson Bay Golf Course will play host to a MDGT event on June 26.
