The Lady Indians (7-4) bounced back from a tough loss on Saturday to post an impressive victory at the Bourbon County Holiday Tournament in Paris.
Senior Bailey O’Bryan had 17 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists and senior center Shadae Bosley had 15 points, nine rebounds and six blocks as Madison Central defeated Harrison County, 55-45.
The Lady Indians took a 13-6 lead after the first quarter and were able to hold on to that advantage the rest of the way.
“We did a good job of getting the ball up the court,” Central coach Robbie Cooksey said. “They had a couple of nice post players. Our goal was to press and get them running up and down the court and wear them down. I think we were able to do that.”
Central forced 16 turnovers and had 10 steals.
The Lady Indians didn’t shoot the ball well again - 34 percent from the field, 3-of-9 from three-point range and 18-of-29 from the line - but got enough offense to get the win.
O’Bryan was 13-of-16 at the line.
Lindsay Johns had six points, two rebounds and two steals. Kasi Schneid had five points, two rebounds and one steal. Haley Christian had seven points, three rebounds and one steal and Raevin Cain had five points, eight rebounds and two steals.
Central wraps up play in the tournament today at 5 p.m. against Somerset in Paris.
