H.S. SWIMMING: Local swimmers shine for Sailfish

RICHMOND — The Swimchester Sailfish, a team based out of Winchester, had several Madison County swimmers compete at the Mako Holiday Classic in Oxford Ohio on the campus of Miami University this past weekend.

The Sailfish finished 11th out of the 28 teams.

Lance Fuller (11-12 boys) posted the fastest time in the state for 100 breaststroke in his age group and had eight top-10 finishes.

Chase Baldwin (open boys) posted six Sectional cuts, including 100 fly, 100/200 back, 200/400 IM, 100 breaststroke and 200 free. He had seven top-10 finishes

Morgan Lakes (open girls) posted five Sectional cuts, including 100/200 back, 200/400 IM and 100 fly. She also had six top-10 finishes

Trent Lakes (13-14 boys) had five top-10 finishes.

Mitchell Collins (Open boys) posted three Sectional cuts, including 100/200 breaststroke and 200 IM. He also had one top-10 finish.

John Babuka (Open boys) posted Sectional cuts in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. He also had one top-10 finish

Isabella Cooksey (9-10 girls) had top-10 finishes in 50 and 100 breaststroke.

Tilly Baldwin (13-14 girls) posted the fastest time in the state this season in the 1,000 yard freestyle in her age group, just one second off the Sectional cut. She also had two top-10 finishes.

Hadley Neal (Open girls) made the finals in 200 breaststroke.

Makenzie Burford (Open girls) made the finals in 200 butterfly.
