RICHMOND — After an almost two-week layoff, the Lady Colonels will try to pick up their third straight win tonight when they take on Longwood at 7 p.m. in Farmville Va.

Prior to the break, EKU posted back-to-back wins, 64-55 over Marshall on Dec. 3 and a 65-61 come-from-behind win over Missouri State on Dec. 5.

Sophomore Shelly Harper had a huge game against Missouri State.

She registered her second career double-double with career highs in both points (19) and rebounds (11). Harper also hit 17 free throws in the game, the third most by a Lady Colonel in a single game and the most since Kim Mays hit 19 in a game in 1995.

Senior Marie Carpenter, who leads both the Lady Colonels and the Ohio Valley Conference in scoring at 23.1 per game, poured in a game-high 22 points against Missouri State.

Longwood has lost four games in a row, including a 79-55 setback to Savannah State on Saturday.

Daeisha Brown leads the Lancers, averaging 17.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, while Raven Williams is second in scoring at 14 points per game.

Khalilah Ali leads Longwood in rebounding at 7.4 per game and is third in scoring at 8.8 points.

The Lady Colonels defeated the Lancers 80-62 in their last meeting in 2012, and are 3-0 all-time against Longwood.
