BOWLING: Hickam flirts with 300 again

RICHMOND — John Hickam continued his flirtation with a perfect game with a 290 score in the Galaxy Classic League last Monday.

Hickam opened the second game in his series with a spare followed by 11 strikes.

Hickam has rolled games of 289, 299 and 290 during a 10-day period.

Hickam also rolled his fourth 700 series of the season with an even 700 score.

Aaron Rose bowled the top series of the week at 711. This was the second 700 series of the young season for Rose.

Regina Barton led the women at Galaxy again with a game of 246 and series of 664 — nearly equaling the season-best scores of 247 and 669 which she had rolled the previous week.

Barton is the only woman with a 300 game to her credit in Galaxy leagues. Her perfect game was bowled in the Galaxy Classic League on Feb. 26, 2007.
