Brandon Simpson bowled the high scores at Galaxy this week with a 280 game and a 774 series.

Galaxy Cash League
There was an unusually large number of high scores bowled in this league on Monday.
Four men — Brandon Simpson (774), Randy Burgess (757), Matt Cracraft (712) and John Hickam (709) — rolled a 700 series, and Mark Rogers fell just short of that total with a 697 score.
A 600 series was also rolled by Andrew Magedanz (657), Paul Miller (631), Todd Young (630), Aaron Rose (616), Daniel Benge (615), Shawn Barton (614) and Raymond White (602).
There were 45 200-level games rolled on Monday as 25 of the 35 bowlers who participated in the league action reached that score one or more times.
The highest games were 280 by Simpson and 278 by Magedanz.
No-Tap Doubles League
In addition to regular strikes, nine pins down with the first ball in a frame counts as a strike in no-tap leagues.
There were five no-tap 300 games bowled in this league on Tuesday. The “perfect” games were rolled by John Hickam, David Robinson, Ron Roberts, Lewis Jones Jr. and substitute Brandon Simpson.
This was the fourth no-tap 300 game of the summer for Roberts, the third for Jones Jr., and the second for Hickam and Simpson.
The next-best men’s games, after the 300 scores, were 278 by Bobby Abrams, 276 by Gary Holtzclaw and 276 by Lynn Estes.
An 800 series was bowled by Roberts (832), Hickam (819), Estes (809) and sub Simpson (832). This was the fourth 800 series by Roberts and Estes this summer, and the second by Hickam and Simpson.
A men’s 700 series was rolled by Jones, Jr. (742), Carl Daniels (723) and Robinson (721).
The best women’s series scores were 795 by Sandy Reynolds and 639 by April Brumfield, while the highest women’s games were 287 by Brumfield and 276 by Reynolds.
The next-best women’s games were 263 by Evelyn Mullins, 246 by Novel Davis and 246 by Betty Lou Masters.
A women’s 600 series was also bowled by Davis (638), Mullins (631) and Sara Zuercher (617).
