Rain pushes back games

Several games of the Little League District 3 tournament in Cynthiana were postponed to today due to rain.
The 11-year-old National League squad’s matchup with Anderson County, which was originally slated for Friday, will be played today. The time of the game was not available at time of press.
The elimination portion of the tournament for both the 11-year-old squads will begin Sunday.
In the elimination portion of the 9- and 10-year-old tournament, the Richmond Little League National division team will play today at noon. The winner will advance to Sunday’s district title game and will be assured a spot in the state tournament, which will be held at Lake Reba.
In Thursday’s All-Star action, the 11-year-old National team fell to Eastern American, 15-3, in its game of pool play, and the 11-year-old American team lost to Mercer County, 10-0.
The National squad jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning. Griffin Sexton and Tanner Kidwell both scored on a double by Hunter Fritz, who also scored in the inning. However, several errors led to their loss. Hunter Fritz was the starting pitcher, and Tanner Kidwell, Trey Sexton and Griffin Sexton all pitched as well. Case Covington and Justin Ferris both had hits in the loss.
In a 10-0 loss to Mercer County, the 11-year-old American squad only had one hit, courtesy of Seth Richardson. Hunter Kabalen was the starting pitcher and Carter Skipworth and Kyle Kelsey both pitched as well. Their matchup on Sunday in the first round of the elimination tournament was not known at time of press.
