Three more decisive wins for All-Stars

The Richmond All-Stars kept up their winning ways on Monday, with three more teams rolling to solid victories.

In Cynthiana, the Richmond National 10- and 11-year-old All-Stars defeated Winchester, 15-0, and the Richmond National 9- and 10-year-old All-Stars picked up a 14-6 win over Winchester American.

In Harrodsburg, the Richmond National 11- and 12-year-old All-Stars rallied from an early deficit to beat Winchester National, 6-2.



10-11 All-Stars

After being rained out on Saturday, the Richmond National All-Stars cruised to a four-inning, 15-0 victory in their tournament opener.

Case Covington pitched a complete game, allowing only three hits and a walk, while striking out five.

Richmond scored twice in the third inning and 13 times in the fourth.

Griffin Sexton, Hunter Fritz, Donte’ Miller (double, triple) and Trey Sexton each had two hits, while Covington had a triple and Tanner Kidwell and Justin Ferris each had one hit.

Richmond National (1-0) also had only one error.

The team is scheduled to return to action Thursday in Cynthiana.



9-10 All-Stars

Richmond National trailed 3-0 in the first inning, but stormed back for a 14-6 win over Winchester American Monday in Cynthiana.

Zack Friend and Chase Robinson each pitched three innings and Caleb Miller scored three times. With the win, Richmond National improved its record to 2-0 in the tournament.

Friend reached base four times and scored twice, while Tye White and Reese Barker each scored twice as well.

Richmond National scored seven runs in the second, four in the fourth and three in the sixth.

The team is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday.



11-12 All-Stars

Richmond National scored four runs in the fifth and went on to pick up a 6-2 win over Winchester National Monday in Harrodsburg.

Winchester led 1-0 in the first, then tied the game (2-2) in the fourth.

Joseph Holbrook went the distance for Richmond National (2-0), giving up five hits, while striking out seven.

Nick Kavanaugh had two hits, including a two-run home run in the fifth, Derek Mills had two hits, Easton Shouse had a double and Holbrook also had a hit.

Richmond American is scheduled to return to action at 8 p.m. today against Eastern American in Harrodsburg.
