Unsteady hands clung to overflowing Solo cups on a muggy Thursday afternoon as people waited in line for sizzling hot dogs in the Alumni Coliseum Lot. No fewer than three completely different genres of music blaring from giant speakers flooded the area with rhythm, punctuated by the repeated “thud” of bean bags slamming onto cornhole boards.
It was a glorious day, EKU tailgating season had begun.
That night, the Colonels did battle with the Robert Morris Colonials in their first game of the season. Hundreds of students and alumni showed up to the lot dressed in maroon and wearing body paint to show support to the players, and have a little fun too.
