A vision for a new Model

Register Staff Report

RICHMOND — Tuesday evening, Eastern Kentucky University President Michael Benson and Dr. Verna Lowe, dean of EKU’s College of Education, met with a roomful of parents and teachers to discuss their plans for the future of Model Laboratory School.

Benson and Lowe presented renderings for a proposed new school building designed by architects Murphy, Graves, Trimble of Lexington. The firm also designed the Madison County Family Court building and the Madison County EMS station on the Eastern Bypass.

The Donovan Annex, current home of Model and the College of Education, was built in 1961.
