All profits made at Partners II Pizza (on the bypass near Kohl's) from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 4) will benefit Project Read, a program that helps Madison County adults who want to learn to read or improve their reading and math skills, to enroll in pre-GED level classes, or to learn to speak English.
Partners II Pizza teams up with local non-profit agencies to help raise money for their programs.
Since 1985, Project Read has been helping adults learn to read by providing one-on-one and group tutoring at no cost to the student.
Located at 2150 Lexington Road, Suite H, near exit 90 off I-75, Project Read offers privacy and convenient parking. The organization’s tutors are volunteers from the community who enjoy helping others. For them, teaching an adult to become more literate provides a heartfelt reward.
If you know someone who needs help, please refer them by calling Brenda Thomas at 623-4905 or by emailing Thomas at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, those interested in becoming a volunteer tutor, free training is provided at no charge. Tutors receive 12 hours of training designed according to guidelines of ProLiteracy America, of which Project Read is an affiliate. Project Read also accepts monetary donations.
