Ashler Lodge party for children Saturday morning

RICHMOND — Ashler Lodge, No. 49, will host a toy giveaway party for children ages 2 to 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

A number of children have been referred by the state Cabinet for Health and Family Services, but others are welcome, said Russell Glover of the lodge.

“We just ask that those not already referred let us know they are coming,” Glover said.

He can be reached by calling 859-519-9553 or emailing ashlerlodge49@gmail.com.

The party will take place at the lodge building, 432 Frances St., Richmond, and members of the Madison Central High School Dance Team will be serving as Santa’s helpers by handing out presents. The team won seven national championships last year.

Also, lodge members will be helping at Madison Garden on Madison Avenue from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday when the restaurant will be providing a free Christmas breakfast to children under age 15, their parents/guardians and family members.

Fundraising meals at Applebee’s

Later on Saturday, Applebee’s on the Eastern Bypass will be hosting a fundraiser for the lodge, Glover said.

From 11 a.m. until closing time, diners who present a flyer from Ashler Lodge No. 49 or Phillis Wheatley No. 39, will have 10 percent of their bills donated to the lodge.

For much of the day, lodge members will be at Applebee’s distributing the flyers, but flyers can be obtained in advance from any lodge member.

For more details or to obtain a flyer, call Glover, 859-519-9553, or email him at ashlerlodge49@gmail.com.
