Shannon Johnson Elementary is “truly committed to creating a healthy learning environment for our students,” said physical education teacher Kathy Todd.
That is why “it is very important to involve families in all that we do,” she said.
More than 300 students and their families attended the Let’s Play! family fun night at the elementary school Monday.
Activities included tennis lessons with pros, blood pressure checks with the White House Clinic and smoothy taste tests.
Students had the opportunity to play fitness games Nine Square in the Air, a dodgeball-like game in the “Hawk’s Nest” and Dance Dance Revolution.
St. Joseph Berea Hospital had its colon inflatable on display and 4-H presented information on nutrition.
