RICHMOND — The worst reported damage from Thursday night’s severe storms was a brief power outage in Berea, according to Michael Bryant, assistant county emergency management director.

The Berea Police Department announced about 8 p.m. Thursday via Twitter that a transformer downtown had been damaged and traffic lights were out. Residents were urged to avoid Jefferson and Ellipse streets during this time. However, the BPD reported the transformer was repaired and power was back by 8:12 p.m.

Bryant said other damage reported had been minor, such as fallen tree limbs and branches on power lines.
