MADISON COUNTY —
Four miles of southbound Interstate 75 in Fayette County will be reduced to two lanes next week for road construction.
The closures will occur between the Man O’ War exit (Exit 108) and Athens-Boonesboro exit (Exit 104), according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Starting Monday at 8 a.m., the southbound left lane of I-75 will be closed until 8 p.m. At 8 p.m., the southbound right lane will be closed and a traffic diversion will be in place with law enforcement assisting with the traffic switch.
A news release from the transportation cabinet said the temporary closures will occur until “further notice.”
The speed limit through the four-mile stretch will be 55 mph with double fines for violations that occur in the work zone.
