The Richmond Register is inviting the public to an open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at its 380 Big Hill Ave. office.
In addition to being an opportunity for readers and customers to meet the newspaper’s staff, the open house is a way for the Register to say “thank you” during the holiday season, said publisher Ann Laurence, who joined the newspaper about six month ago.
In addition to its administration, news and sports writers, advertising consultants and other full-time staff, many of the Register’s columnists and correspondents will be on hand to meet the public.
The open house also is a good time for new and current subscribers to take advantage of incentives the Register is offering to those who bring a donation of non-perishable items for the Grace Now Food Pantry, Laurence said.
Through Friday, Dec. 20, bringing at least 10 cans or other of non-perishable food containers to the Register’s office will earn new subscribers a discount. Existing subscribers will get one month free for the same donation.
A brown bag was included with Saturday’s newspaper to facilitate delivery of donations.
The bags also can be brought to the Register’s table at the Christmas at Richmond Centre event beginning at noon Saturday, Dec. 14, or left for Register carriers to pick up when they deliver the paper.
