MADISON COUNTY —
More than 100 Madison County Special Olympics athletes, parents, volunteers and community members boogied down during the annual Valentine's Day dance for individuals with special needs Tuesday at the Russel Acton Folk Center in Berea.
The event was started six years ago to give individuals with disabilities in the community the opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day by dancing, hanging out with their friends and having fun, said Eden Fisher, Madison County Special Olympics coordinator.
"It was a blast," she said. "The dance is always a highly-anticipated event. We are already looking forward to next year's dance."
