Chance for England trip added to Dolly Parton concert

Fewer than 100 seats remain

Register Staff Report

RICHMOND — A chance to win a trip to hear Dolly Parton perform in England has been added to her May 27 benefit concert at the EKU Center for the Arts.

This will be the County Music Hall of Fame member’s second performance in Richmond as part of the Evening Among Friends series sponsored by St. Mark Catholic Church and School.

“Fewer than 100 tickets remain as we welcome Dolly Parton back to headline the event at the EKU Center for the Arts,” said the Rev. James W. Sichko, St. Mark pastor.

“And we are pleased to announce an incredible getaway sweepstakes” in conjunction with the concert, he said. “We’ve never done anything like this before!”

For the donation of one cent, someone will win round-trip, first class airline tickets for two from Lexington to London, England, plus accommodations for five days/four nights at the 5-star London JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel and two special VIP tickets to enjoy Dolly Parton’s sold-out concert at the 02 Arena on June 27, he said.

“The package also includes a special ‘meet and greet’ with Dolly prior to the show,” Sichko said. “Of course, people can donate more than a penny, but one penny could win you the concert experience of a lifetime.”

If present for Parton’s Richmond concert, the winner also will receive $500 to take along for the London trip, Sichko added.

More details are available online at www.stmarksgetaway.com. Donations can also be made online.

“This is a marvelous opportunity for Dolly Parton fans from the Bluegrass and beyond to experience a truly wonderful performer and win an unforgettable trip to London,” Sichko said. “If people haven’t purchased tickets yet – they’d better hurry as so few tickets remain. And they need to donate a penny to win this getaway!”

Concert tickets are available by calling 623-2989, Ext. 2001, or by visiting www.saintmarkcatholicchurch.net.

An Evening Among Friends grew out of the concept that St. Mark is called to improve the quality of life and to give back what it has received, Sichko explained. The mission of St. Mark Church is to foster gospel values through Christian education and to promote the dignity of the person, family and community through worship, service and fellowship.
